Indications:

Mast stop® used to treat clinical mastitis caused by penicillin and kanamycin susceptible organisms, especially penicillinase positive staphylococci and streptococcus spp.

Mechanism of action:

Penicillin G is an antibiotic of the β-lactam class. It works whit interfering in the formation of the cell wall in growing bacteria. This weakness in the cell wall kills the gram-positive bacteria. Kanamycin is an aminoglycoside antibiotic produced by Streptomyces kanamyceticus. It is a bactericidal antibiotic, which acts by inhibiting the synthesis of protein in susceptible microorganisms. This combination has a synergistic action against broad spectrum of gram-positive and gram- negative bacteria.

Prednisolone is a type of steroid medication with anti-inflammatory and immunosuppressant effects.

Dosage & administration:

Clean and disinfect the teat, then infuse one syringe into each quarter at the last lactating. Massage the medication up into the milk cistern. If necessary, be repeated within 12 hours.

Withdrawal time:

Milk: 4 days after the last treatment

Meat: 6 days after the last treatment

 

Contra-indications:

Do not use in dry cows.

Do not use in animals with liver and kidney problems.

Do not use in case of hypersensitivity to aminoglycosides.

Do not use concurrently with tetracyclines.

Caution:

Shake well before use.

Allergic reaction to penicillin may occur in some animals.

Avoid skin contact, wear gloves and wash your hands after use. In case of direct contact with skin, rinse area with water and soap.

Keep out of reach and sight of children.

Use only under the prescription of a veterinarian.

Storage:

Do not store above 25oC, keep away from light and freezing
