Oral powder
Therapeutically classification: Alkalizing agent
Composition: Each g contains:
Sodium bicarbonate 1 g
Target Species: Poultry (Breeders, Layers, Broilers), Cattle and Calves
Indications:
To prevent heat stresses, metabolic and respiratory acidosis, egg shell malformations, acute diarrhea in calves, increase pH of the ruminal environment, alkalinize urine and supply of sodium ion in diet.
Mechanism of action:
Sodium bicarbonate is monosodium salt of carbonic acid with alkalinizing and electrolyte replacement properties. Upon dissociation, sodium bicarbonate forms sodium and bicarbonate ions. Bicarbonate ion forms the alkaline portion of the bicarbonate-carbonic acid buffer, which is the main extracellular buffering system. Ion formation increases plasma bicarbonate and buffers excess hydrogen ion concentration which results in raised blood pH.
Dosage & Administration:
Cattle and Calves: according to the intensity of acidosis, dissolve 15 to 50 g of product in water, then feed the animal via gastrostomy tube or a bottle.
Breeders and Layers: 5 kg per 1000 kg of feed
Broilers: 3 kg per 1000 kg of feed
