Composition: Each g contains:
Phenylbutazone 50 mg
Target species: Cattle, Horses and Dogs
Indications:
Bayzone® 5% is used for treatment of inflammatory conditions associated with the musculoskeletal system like arthritis, tendonitis, joint rheumatism, inflammation caused by trauma or various infectious agents, and also milk obstruction in dog, and udder inflammation in cattle.
Mechanism of action:
Phenylbutazone is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory which decreases in the synthesis of prostaglandins by inhibiting the function of cyclooxygenase enzyme, and then decreases permeability of vessels and diapedesis so prevents edema and pain due to inflammatory mediator actions.
Route & Administration:
First, clean the skin of the inflamed area well, then, against the direction of hair growth, apply the ointment slowly and with a gentle massage. Repeat this procedure 2 or 3 times daily until complete recovery.
Storage:
Do not store above 25°C, keep away from light and freezing.
