Indications:
GD mast® is used for treatment and control of mastitis in dairy cows during lactating period.
Mechanism of action:
Penicillin G is an antibiotic of the ß-lactam class. Dihydrostreptomycin belongs to the aminoglycosides. The combination of penicillin G potassium and dihydrostreptomycin acts synergistic. The combination is active against both gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria such as Arcanobacterium pyogenes, Erysipelothrix rhusiopathiae, Klebsiella pneumonia, Listeria spp., Leptospira spp., Mannheimia haemolytica, Pasteurella multocida, Staphylococcus spp., Streptococcus spp., Salmonella spp., E. coli, Clostridium spp., Campylobacter spp., Bacillus anthracis, Actinomyces bovis and Haemophilus spp., Mycoplasma spp., Fusobacterium and Mycobacterium spp.
Dosage & Administration:
Clean and disinfect the teat, then infuse one syringe into each quarter at the last lactating. Massage the medication up into the milk cistern. If necessary, be repeated within 12 hours (up to 3 times).
Withdrawal times:
Milk: 4 days after the last treatment
Meat: 10 days after the last treatment
Contra-indications:
Do not use in dry cows.
Do not administer simultaneously with sulfonamides, salicylates, phenylbutazone, calcium and magnesium.
Caution:
Shake well before use.
Allergic reaction to penicillin may occur in some animals.
Keep out of reach and sight of children.
Use only under the prescription of a veterinarian.
Storage:
Do not store above 25 °C, keep away from light and freezing.
