Kanamycin is an aminoglycoside antibiotic and acts its bactericidal action by prevention of bacterial protein synthesis in gram negative pathogens. So that, this product has bactericidal effect on gram positive bacteria like Staphylococcus aureus and Streptococcus uberis and gram negative bacteria like Escherichia coli.
