Composition: Each ml contains:

Target species: Cattle, Sheep, Goats, Equines, Dogs and Cats

Indications:

Bayfen^® 2.5%  is a broad-spectrum anti-parasitic drug that it is effective on parasite eggs, infant and adult stages of gastrointestinal and respiratory system nematodes such as Haemonchus, Nematodirus, Ostertagia, Trichostrongylus, Cooperia, Oesophagostomum, Chabrtia Ovina, Trichuris ovis and Neoascaris in cattle, sheep and goats, as well as the gastrointestinal system adult cestodes such as large and small strongyle, Ascaris and Oxyuris in equine, Ascaris and ancylostoma, Trichuris and adult Cestods in  carnivores.

Mechanism of action:

Fenbendazole is a benzimidazole anti-parasitic that inhibits fumarate reductase enzyme activity, preventing the reduction of fumarate to succinate in mitochondria and inhibits the production of energy. As a result, the parasite is destroyed due to muscle paralysis. The drug absorption from the intestine is very low and slowly that increases the effectiveness of the treatment. 10-12 hours after administration, drug reaches its maximum plasma concentration. Fenbendazole discretion of about 90% in the feces and urine will be a little.

Dosage & Administration:

Sheep and Goats: 5 mg/kg of body weight (or 2 ml per 10 kg body weight) daily and are increased to double dose in case of cestode infection.

Cattle: 7.5 mg/kg of body weight (or 3 ml per 10 kg body weight) daily.

Equine: 7.5 mg/kg of body weight (or 3 ml per 10 kg body weight for treatment of gastrointestinal infections) daily and 10 mg/kg of body weight (or 4 ml per 10 kg body weight) daily for 5 consecutive days for the treatment of pulmonary infections.

Dogs and Cats: 50 mg/kg of body weight (or 2 ml/kg of body weight) daily for 3 consecutive days.

Note: Duration and dosage should be determined under the prescription of a veterinarian.

Withdrawal time:

Cattles, Sheep and Goats:

Meat: 7 days after the last treatment / Milk: 3 – 5 days after the last treatment

Side effects:

The drug in recommended dose does not have any side effects for ruminants and can be used in different stages of pregnancy due to their high tolerance to the drug.

Contra-indications:

Avoid using simultaneously with bromine salts that are used to treatment in liver fluke (fasciola).

Caution:

Shake well before use.

Avoid contact with the hands.

Keep out of reach and sight of children.

Use only under the prescription of a veterinarian.

Storage:

Do not store above 25º C, keep away from light and freezing.
