Indication:

Aflactam® 2+1+1 exerts a bactericidal action against mainly Gram-positive bacteria like Clostridium, Campylobacter, Haemophilus, Pasteurella haemolytica, Pasteurella multocida, Corynebacterium pyogenes, Listeria, Streptococcus, Bacillus anthracis, Actinomyces bovis. It is used in the treatment of severe acute infections and when a high concentration of penicillin in the blood is needed and in the treatment of infections caused by microorganisms that are sensitive to penicillin such as Arthritis, Omphalitis, Listeriosis, Septicemia, Gastrointestinal infections, Respiratory tract infection, Urogenital tract infections, Anthrax, Tetanus, Gas gangrene,  Malignant edema,  Leptospirosis, Botulism, Strangles, preoperative treatments and secondary infection caused by penicillin sensitive micro-organims.

Mechanism of action:

Penicillin G exerts a bactericidal action against penicillin-susceptible microorganisms during the stage of active multiplication. It acts through the inhibition of biosynthesis of cell-wall mucopeptide. Penicillin G is active against many gram-positive and a limited number of gram-negative bacteria however not active against the penicillinase-producing bacteria. Penicillin G benzathine is absorbed very slowly from the intramuscular injection site and converted by hydrolysis into penicillin G. Penicillin G potassium appears quickly in the blood after the intramuscular injection and penicillin G procaine is absorbed slowly after the intramuscular injection.

Dosage & Administration:

Add 15 ml sterile WFI to the powder, shake well then use deep intramuscular injection immediately.
