Indications:
MastiLast® is for treatment and control of infections caused mastitis in lactating period.
Mechanism of action:
Penicillin G procaine is an antibiotic of the B-lactam class. It works by interfering with the formation of cell wall while it is growing. This weakens the cell wall and kills the bacteria. Neomycin is an antibiotic from the aminoglycoside group with bactericidal activity. It is protein synthesis inhibitor. Penicillin G procaine is active against gram positive and a limited number of gram negative bacteria.
Neomycin has excellent activity against gram negative bacteria, and has partial activity against gram positive bacteria. The combination of penicillin G procaine and dihydrostreptomycin acts synergistic. The combination is active against both gram positive and gram negative bacteria such as Arcanobacterium pyogenes, Erysipelothrix rhusiopathiae, Klebsiella pneumonia, Listeria spp., Leptospira spp., Mannheimia haemolytica, Pasteurella multocida, Staphylococcus spp., Streptococcus spp., Salmonella spp., E. coli, Clostridium, Campylobacter, Bacillus anthracis, Actinomyces bovis, Haemophilus, Mycoplasma and Fusobacterium and has a bactericidal action. Prednisolone is a type of steroid medication. It has anti-inflammatory and immunosuppressant effects.
Dosage & Administration:
Clean and disinfect the teat, then infuse one syringe into each quarter at the last lactating. Massage the medication up into the milk cistern. If necessary, be repeated within 12 hours (A maximum of 3 times).
Caution:
Allergic reaction to penicillin rarely occurs in some animals.
Shake well before use.
Keep out of reach and sight of children.
Do not use in dry cows.
Use only under the prescription of a veterinarian.
Withdrawal time:
Milk: 4 days after the last treatment
Meat: 10 days after the last treatment
Storage:
Do not store above 25°C, keep away from light and freezing.
