Indications:
Mastaflak® is for treatment of mastitis in dairy cows during lactating period.
Mechanism of action:
Penicillin is an antibiotic of the β-lactam class. It works by interfering with the formation of bacteria’s cell wall while it is growing. This weakens the cell wall and kills the bacteria. Neomycin is an antibiotic from the aminoglycoside group with bactericidal activity. It is protein synthesis inhibitor. Penicillin G is active against gram-positive and limited number of gram-negative bacteria. Neomycin has excellent activity against gram-negative bacteria, and has partial activity against gram-positive bacteria.
Dosage & Administration:
Clean and disinfect the teat. Then infuse one syringe into each quarter at the last lactating. Massage the medication up into the milk cistern. If necessary, be repeated within 12 hours (A maximum of 3 times).
Withdrawal time:
Milk: 3 days after the last treatment
Meat: 4 days after the last treatment
Caution:
Shake well before use.
Not use in dry cows.
Allergic reaction to penicillin rarely occurs in some animals.
Use only under the prescription of a veterinarian.
Keep out of reach and sight of children.
Storage:
Do not store above 25°C, keep away from light and freezing.
