Target Species: Poultry (Broilers, Breeders), Geese and Turkeys
Bayzoril® is a broad spectrum anticoccidial for treatment of coccidiosis in poultry. It is highly effective not only against all coccidia of chickens (E. acervulina, E. brunetti, E. maxima, E. mivati, E. necatrix, E. tenella) and turkeys (E. adenoides, E. meleagrimitis), but also against those of geeses (E. anseris, E. truncata).
Mechanism of action:
Toltrazuril is effective on all intracellular developmental stages of coccidia and interferes with the division of the nucleus and with the activity of the mitochondria, which are responsible for the respiratory metabolism of the parasites. Toltrazuril thus has coccidiocidal rather than coccidiostatic action.
Dosage & Administration:
Bayzoril® is administered via the drinking water of poultry. The basic dosage in poultry is 7 mg/kg of body weight. One medication on 2 consecutive days is as a rule sufficient, if indicated treatment should be repeated after 5 days.
