Target species: Lactating cows

Indications:

Bay Ampiclox® used for treatment and control of clinical mastitis in dairy cows during lactating period especially due to Streptococci spp., Staphylococci spp., Arcanobacterium pyogenes, and E. coli.

Mechanism of action:

Ampicillin and cloxacillin are both beta-lactam class. In combination, ampicillin and cloxacillin have a synergistic action against broad spectrum of gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria. Cloxacillin bind to the β-lactamase enzyme and thus prevents the enzyme acting on ampicillin. This product is well distributed within the udder, and shows bactericidal activity at the concentrations achieved in the udder against all major gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria associated with mastitis, with no irritant properties. It is highly effective against Streptococci, penicillin resistant and sensitive Staphylococci, Corynebacterium pyogenes, Escherichia coli and other gram-negative organisms.

Dosage & Administration:

Clean and disinfect the teat, then infuse one syringe into each quarter at the last lactating. Massage the medication up into the milk cistern. If necessary, be repeated within 12 hours (up to 3 times).
